First taste pure
The first sip helps to understand structure, intensity and temperature. Only then does it make sense to decide whether to intervene.
A few drops
With high-proof whisky, a few drops can release aromas retained by the alcohol and make the sip more readable.
Proceed in small steps
Adding is easy, removing is impossible. Stir slowly, wait a few seconds and taste again.
There is no universal dose
It depends on the whisky, the glass and personal sensitivity. There is only one useful rule: the water must open the distillate, not erase it.
